The Honor 200 and 200 Pro are expanding to a global audience – pre-orders start today, open sales on July 28. The vanilla phone is priced £500 (and comes with a free JBL Charge 5 Wi-Fi), while the Pro model is £700 (comes with Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8 50W BT speaker).
The two are quite similar, except that the Honor 200 Pro has a larger, curved 6.78” display, a more powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and 66W wireless charging for the 5,200mAh battery. The cameras are slightly different too, with a larger 1/1.3” 50MP sensor in the main on the back and a depth sensor on the front for 3D face scanning.
The Honor 200 has a flat 6.7” display (both are 10-bit 120Hz OLEDs), a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and a smaller but not small 1/1.56” 50MP sensor in the main. The 50MP 2.5x tele and 12MP ultra wide, plus the 50MP selfie cameras are the same. Wired charging for both phones is up to 100W. One last important thing to note is that the Pro model has an IP65 rating, the vanilla has no dust or water resistance rating.
Now that you know what you’re getting with the Honors, let’s quickly shop around for alternatives. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is well above the budget, even with discounts. You might find the Galaxy S24+ under £800, but it’s often more than that. The Galaxy S24 is more than £700 and it is too small, anyway, but a Galaxy A55 can be had for less than the Honor 200 price.
Unless you want to pick out an older model like a 13T, you can find the Poco F6 Pro at £500, for example. Meanwhile, a OnePlus 12R is £550 right now and a flagship OnePlus 12 can be had for £800.

Before you make up your mind, don’t miss our Honor 200 Pro review. Spoiler alert: the screen and camera quality is great, though the camera did give us some issues.
Let’s start with the Honor 200 Pro then, will you buy it or are you looking at other options?
What about the Honor 200? Is it worth spending £200 extra for a slightly better chipset and camera or is the vanilla model the one to go for?
