Xiaomi capped off its 14 series announcement event with the Pad 6S Pro 12.4, a new take on Xiaomi’s pro tablets. The name suggests that there may be another Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro with a smaller display, perhaps an 11-inch.

The all-metal slate comes in three colors – black, blue, and green – weighs 590g, and has six speakers and Dolby Atmos support. There are four microphones on the tablet.

It’s bigger than the ongoing Pad 6 Pro and has a 12.4-inch IPS LCD. The panel has a boxier 3:2 aspect ratio, a higher 3048x2032px resolution, but the same 144Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi claims 900 nits of brightness.

Xiaomi boasts that the Pad 6S Pro 12.4’s display is professionally color-calibrated to the CIE2015 color curve, matching Xiaomi’s flagship line of TV, laptop, and phone displays.

The display is covered by Gorilla Glass 5 and supports pen input. Xiaomi’s specs distinguish between the touch sampling rate of a finger and a pen – 360Hz and 240Hz, respectively.

The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 runs Xiaomi’s take on Android 14 – HyperOS. Some apps are optimized for better multitasking on the tablet’s bigger screen – WPS Office and CajViewer support a triple-screen split, something Xiaomi has dubbed the ‘Workbench’ interface. You can have two apps running side-by-side, or several apps as floating windows over the UI.

You can also pair the tablet with an external monitor or use it as a second display for your Windows laptop.

The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 has pogo pins on the back that can magnetically attach to the Xiaomi SU7 EV and make the tablet part of the infotainment with control to the car’s interface.

The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM. There’s 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage. The battery is a 10,000mAh unit with 120W charging. The time to 100% is a claimed, outrageous 35 minutes, while 10 minutes on the charger promises 45% back. Xiaomi has implemented two custom chips to safeguard the battery – a P2 chip monitors fast charging, while the G1 chip manages the battery health.
