Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35 repairability scores emerge

by TexasDigitalMagazine.com

Samsung France shared the official repairability scores for the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 ahead of their launch. France implemented mandatory repairability labels for electronic devices back in 2020. The rating is based on 5 categories which take into account the availability of spare parts, repairability manuals and tools required for repairs among others. The scores for each category are then multiplied by a weighted coefficient for the final reparability score.

Galaxy A55 earned an 8.5/10 rating which is a slight bump over last year’s Galaxy A54 which managed 8.3/10 score.

Galaxy A35 received an 8.4/10 rating which is also 0.1 points better than its predecessor. According to the score breakdown, the newer devices will have spare parts available for a longer period alongside better access to disassembly tools and more affordable pricing for said spare parts.

Interestingly enough, the A35 scored lower on the disassembly criteria compared to its predecessor.

Galaxy A55 is expected to feature an Exynos 1480 chipset alongside a 6.5-inch FHD+ 120 Hz OLED screen, 50 MP main camera, and support for 25W wired charging.

Galaxy A35 is rumored to bring an Exynos 1380 chipset, a 6.6-inch 120Hz FHD+ display and a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W charging. Samsung has yet to confirm official launch plans for either of the two Galaxy devices but given the amount of leaks we can assume their launch is near.
