You know a phone is a notch above its peers when it has a Plus annexed to its Pro. That’s precisely the Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ – the best of the Spark 20 family in both looks and specs.
For starters, the Pro+ has an AMOLED display, even if it shares the 6.78-inch diagonal 1080x2436px resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate with the IPS LCD of the Spark 20 Pro.
The other change is the chipset, the Pro+ has a MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate to the Pro’s regular Helio G99. What makes the Ultimate better isn’t very clear as the CPU and GPU clocks match, but with a name like that it just has to be better, right?
Finally, the Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ runs Android 14 out of the box, which isn’t the case with the Android 13-booting Spark 20 Pro.
The Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ is a nice-looking phone
Moving past the comparisons, the Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ is a very nice-looking phone and it comes in a well-equipped box. There’s a case, a glass screen protector that’s curved to match the phone’s display, USB-C earbuds, a 33W charger, and a USB-A to USB-C cable.
The Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ we have is the Magic Skin Green model and it has a faux leather finish on the back. The gold-accented frame and camera island pair nicely with the green, and you’d never guess the frame is plastic.
Around the back, there’s a omnious-looking camera system that’s sadly just a 108MP main camera and a couple of helper sensors. On the bright side, the 108MP unit has a 1/1.67-inch sensor, an f/1.75 aperture, and 3x in-sensor zoom.
