Meizu successfully launched its latest Android flagship smartphone with the Meizu 21 at a dedicated launch event held in China today. The device comes as a successor to last year’s Meizu 20 offering the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 200 MP main cam, and 80W fast charging.
Meizu 21 features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel boasts symmetrical 1.74mm side and top bezels and cranks out up to 1,100 nits peak brightness in auto mode. Meizu is offering the phone in black, purple, green and white colors with the latter also getting color-matched white screen bezels which is something you don’t see that often.
Being a flagship phone launched in late 2023 means Meizu 2023 gets the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and it is paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The back retains the metal camera rings design from the Meizu 20 but we now get a 200MP main cam with Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3 – a 1/1.4-inch large sensor with an f/1.69 aperture and OIS.

The second cutout is for the 13MP ultrawide lens while the third one hosts a 5MP portrait cam. You’ll also notice the RGB ring flash which can be toggled to display a predetermined color or pattern for notifications. Meizu 21 is also IP54 rated and brings a 4,800 mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
Meizu 21 also debuts FlymeOS 10.5 based on Android 13 and supports Flyme Auto – the maker’s in-car infotainment system compatible with Meizu parent company Geely’s Lynk & Co 08 electric SUV serving as the first vehicle to support FlymeAuto. Speaking of electric vehicles, Meizu announced its plans to launch a Meizu DreamCar MX vehicle in Q1 2024.
Meizu 21 pricing in China starts at CNY 3,399 ($480) for the 8/256GB trim and goes up to CNY 3,999($565) for the 12/512GB. Meizu also confirmed it will offer an extended 36-month warranty with all Meizu 21 phones. Open sales start on December 5.
