Texas Rowing tabbed CRCA Division I Region 3 Staff of the Year

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Rowing earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Region 3 Staff of the Year honors, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Led by head coach Dave O’Neill, the Texas staff guided the Longhorns to a second consecutive national championship and seventh-straight Big 12 Conference title. The Texas First Varsity Eight also claimed the national crown for the second year in a row.

The Longhorn staff is comprised of O’Neill, associate head coach Mary Lenington, assistant coaches Mara Allen and Nick Baker, director of operations Rachel Sander, boatman/rigger Spencer Kales, volunteer assistant coaches Gia Doonan and Hanna Luft, graduate assistant coach Sara Neaves and athletic trainer Laef Morris.

Texas received regional accolades for the first time since 2019 and fourth time in program history, having previously garnered the honor in 2015 and 2018.

The Staff of the Year award is voted on by the membership of the CRCA and is intended to recognize staffs whose teams have had outstanding success throughout the current season and have demonstrated a high level of professionalism and integrity as coaches.
