Snapchat has launched a redesigned Snapchat Family Safety Hub, which will provide easy access to Snap’s parental guidance tools and in-app management options, in order to help parents ensure their kids are safe in the app.
Snap’s updated Safety Hub includes various app guides and advice for parents, as well as links to informational videos, FAQs, official policy documents, and more.
As per Snap:
“Families can also check out a dedicated page to learn all about Family Center, our in-app parental tools. There, they’ll find clear, sequential guidance to help them get started using Family Center in the app. This page will be updated regularly to reflect our continued efforts to enhance our safety features.”
Developed in partnership with Common Sense Media, the updated Safety Hub is Snap’s latest effort to help reassure parents, and give them direct access to all the answers and tools they need to keep their kids safe, and aware of online dangers.
Of course, that also means that parents actually have to use these resources, and there are many parents of teens who don’t monitor such activity. And it can be hard, with kids conducting all sorts of interactions in various apps, while parents also want to give them autonomy and privacy, but Snap is trying to provide more options to help parents on this front, with updated, refreshed guides and tools.
In addition, Snap’s also announced a new parenting YouTube playlist, providing access to more content to inform and educate parents.
It’s a good update, with an improved UI in the Family Safety Hub, and updated visuals and fonts, making it easier to navigate.
And this is a key area of concern, which all parents should be informing themselves on.
