Threads may soon enable you to add multiple links to your profile in the app, following Instagram’s lead in enabling expanded off-platform connection.

As you can see in this example, posted by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, Threads is experimenting with the option to add more than one profile link. Right now, you can only add a single link that’s then displayed below your bio field in the app.
The update looks set to follow Instagram, which now enables users to add up to five links to their profile. Instagram added that option back in 2023, providing more ways to promote your off-platform presence within the app.

Given the format of Threads profiles, it seems likely that it will take a similar approach, with a main link shown on your profile, followed by a reference to other links, which you can tap through on for more info.
Though it’s still in test mode, and we don’t really know what to expect. But given its similarities to Instagram, and that Threads is still a subsidiary of IG, even if it is a separate app, it seems like Threads would probably look to work on a similar display set-up, in line with this trend.
That could provide a range of opportunities to showcase your business profiles, or link to your TikTok, YouTube, or other app presence.
There’s a range of ways that this could be used, and it would be a handy addition, and another way to use Threads for promotional purposes.
We’ve asked Threads for more info on the test, and we’ll update this post if/when we hear back.
